Property Description

This property is in a private position on the outskirts of the village of Le Pouget, a two-minute walk away, which has a restaurant, two bars, mini market, boulangerie, pharmacy, doctor and hairdresser.

Le Mazet is a completely self-contained stone house owned by a professional French family who live next door. It is set in large grounds of 8000 sq m, with a swimming pool.

Whilst attached to the main house, visitors to Le Mazet enjoy complete privacy both inside and out. The main entrance is at the front of the house from the front garden, through sliding glass doors (with shutters for security), into the spacious sitting/dining room with kitchen.

The fully equipped kitchen has fridge with small freezer, gas cooker, exhaust fan, microwave etc. and plenty of cupboard space. A bar separates the kitchen from the living area, which is furnished with a sofa that converts to a bed, a large, round dining table and chairs, T.V. has DVD player and a selection of DVDs, plus CD player/radio. WIFI connection if you bring your computer.

From the living area a glass door opens to a large (approximately 25 sq m) living room with big dining table. There are glass sliding doors opening to the private patio which leads to the garden and the pool.

A solid timber spiral staircase leads up to a small landing with plenty of hanging space. Please note that the staircase is narrow and there is a gap at the top of stairs on the landing, which may not be suitable for very young children. Off the landing is the large bedroom with one double and one single bed, overhead fan, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a window overlooking the garden and pool. The shower room with large shower, hand washbasin and washing machine, iron and ironing board. There is a separate WC also off the landing.

Sleeping arrangements can be organised to suit your needs. Apart from the upstairs bedroom with one double and one single bed, there is the sofa bed on the ground floor and a fold up bed for a child can also be
provided.

The fenced pool is 5m x 10m, 1.10m-1.80m deep and is entered by four steps. The pool is shared with the owners and is yours to use at any time.

There is a barbeque in the garden, which also has a wood-fired oven suitable for cooking pizzas and bread and plenty of outdoor furniture for sunbathing and al fresco dining. A ping-pong table is available for guests use. A cot can be provided if required (please bring the linen).

The owners, who have a cat and a dog, speak good English. They are happy to help you enjoy your holiday to the utmost with sightseeing suggestions, restaurant reservations, etc, and will be as friendly or as discreet as you wish.

There is private parking on the premises, within a few feet of the entrance.

…Le Mazet was everything we could have hoped for. The (owners) were wonderful hosts. They were very friendly, helpful and unless we needed anything, left us to our own devices. On our last night, we had the wonderful experience of dining with the very charming couple in their home - trading stories of travel and communicating in 3 languages (English, French and Spanglish).
The location was wonderful - a very quiet little town, but so close to Clermont L'Herault (wonderful market) and Gignac (also charming).
The suite was great - lots of room. It was nice to have breakfast in the front room, overlooking the garden/pool area.
Overall, it was one of my favorite parts of our 3 weeks in Europe - and we would recommend it to anyone.

" We really had the most enjoyable time staying at Le Mazet. The family couldn’t have been more helpful and the accommodation was first class - much more spacious than is the norm. It really is just a short walk to the village where you will find everything for your immediate needs and the 2 small restaurants serve inexpensive but simple meals.
Finally, the pool is in such a lovely setting and it is nearly all yours as the family seem not to use it very often and if they did they are totally non intrusive.

Local Area Information

Supermarkets, restaurants, shops etc are a 7-minute drive away in the market towns of Clermont l’Herault and Gignac, which both have excellent weekly street markets. Good swimming spots at Mediterranean beaches (30 minutes) and Lac Salagou (15 minutes).

Many summer activities include concerts in towns and villages, also in wine domains followed by wine tasting.

Montpellier 40 mins offers the arts theatre shopping and an international airport and train station Or an hours drive takes you to splendid Roman towns such as Avignon Nimes Arles.

Visit fabulous Carcassonne and the Cathar castles to the west.

The Spanish border is only an hour and a half away
