In summer, High Lodge also offers a range of great activities including open-air concerts and music festivals. The imposing NT property Oxburgh Hall is 3 miles; within easy reach are the pretty market towns of Swaffham, Downham Market and Brandon, Newmarket for a day at the races or the ever popular cities of Norwich and Cambridge. For a more restful break the area is ideal for bird watching, fishing or walking. There are footpaths nearby and guests also have use of the owners’ 4-acre orchard and 15ft Splasher Pool. After a day’s sightseeing guests can return to enjoy a glass of wine or alfresco dining in the delightful enclosed courtyard. A traditional Norfolk pub with an excellent menu and first class draught ales is 2 miles (taxi service by prior arrangement). Shops 2 miles.
