It is a lovely spot here, stunning views of some of England's highest mountains (Helvellyn & Blencathra) & walking from the door, whilst being only 2.5 miles from the delightful Victorian market town of Keswick-on-Derwentwater & 10 minutes from Grasmere. The ancient stone circle at Castlerigg is about 1.5 miles away and Thirlmere, a lake with a beautifully-wooded shoreline is 2 miles away. Brocklebeck is a charming studio apartment for two with twin beds in a beautiful converted barn with en-suite bathroom, kitchenette, dining table & sitting area with a huge arched window taking in glorious views of the Helvellyn range. It is very well-equipped & comfortable, and surrounded by gardens & outdoor seating areas. There is also a laundry room.

Next door is Bleaberry, another similar delightful studio apartment, with a double bed There is also a laundry room.

About Weather/Climate/TemperatureThe climate in this area is very pleasant. In the summer a sea breeze takes the edge off the heat. Even in the winter months the temperature can rise to 20 degrees with many lovely sunny days.

Local Area Information

here's some local information: we are very handy for Keswick & its surrounding villages, which offer plenty of pubs & restaurants. Keswick also has an excellent theatre. The walking round here is extremely varied - there's lovely level walks in quiet valleys or to tea-rooms, plenty of wonderful "medium-sized" walks....and you can see both Helvellyn & Blencathra from your door - these are two of the very best mountains in the country, with a range of fantastic routes. You can also try watersports: anything from a simple canoe or rowing-boat, small motor boat or "proper" sailing, with tuition if required, on the lake. There's also horse-riding, fishing, cycling....even paragliding! And, of course, rock-climbing, abseiling & ghyll-scrambling.

Alternatively, just enjoy the wildlife: there's badgers & rare red squirrels in our private woodland, and a tuneful assembly of song-birds as well as owls, woodpigeons & buzzards around the grounds.

We are on-hand to recommend walks, picnic spots, restaurants, bike hire......anything you're interested in, really!
