La Petite Grange is a lovely architect-designed barn conversion on a small development with swimming pool and tennis court. It's located less than 10 minutes drive from Riberac in the Dordogne. The house and grounds are wonderfully peaceful and the terrace faces south - enjoying stunning views over the valley below. Inside the house is delightfully light and airy and retains many original features including exposed beams. The house has 3 bedrooms (1 double, 2 twins) and is well equipped with washing machine and dishwasher. The sitting room enjoys panoramic views and has a wood-burning stove and satellite TV and DVD player. Outside, the south-facing terrace has a shady pergola - wonderful for eating outside - and the large surrounding grounds have been beautifully landscaped to include the shared swimming pool (14mx9m) and an all-weather tennis court. Linen and bikes are available as optional extras. We regret no under 5's and no pets.

Local Area Information

The house is set in a small rural hamlet called Champagnac which sits astride a ridge with lovely views. The old village of Vanxains, with its boulangerie and post office nestles in the valley below and is only a short drive away - you can also cycle or walk to it. Riberac, a bustling town is five miles away. It has all kinds of shops, hypermarkets, great restaurants and other facilities such as canoeing and horse riding. The famous Friday market at Riberac is a must for visitors and is as much a social occasion as a shopping opportunity. Aubeterre, a very old and very beautiful village is only 15 minutes drive away - the nearest golf course is also located here. There are lots of other lovely places to explore. Brantome, Bergerac, Perigueux and St Emilion are all less than an hour's drive and are brilliant for sightseeing (and wine tasting!).
