Westwood Guest Cottage is beautifully situated amidst surrounding woods on a quiet country road on the hill above the historic village of Unadilla. Unadilla is a Native American word that translates into "The Meeting Place", a fit name for the place to enjoy both the serenity of nature and the diversions offered by the scenic local towns and villages. If you crave the beauty and serenity of nature, peace and quiet, privacy and a great get-away, our cottage is right for you. We are 15 minutes from Oneonta and just a short scenic drive from Oneonta to Cooperstown. We are within 30 minutes of Cooperstown, and closer to Dream Park( where the summer baseball tournaments occur). The cottage sits in a clearing on 11 acres of woods, perfect for bird watching with hiking and walking trails. The only sound you will hear at night is the sound of crickets. You can just relax and swim in our 20'x 40' pool, enjoy a picnic with an outdoor gas grill by the cottage, or have access to many fine, inexpensive, off the beaten path restaurants in the area. This is the only cottage on the property, and you have a private driveway.
What we offer is a vacation experience you will want to repeat. We are child and pet friendly as well as a non-smoking establishment. Smoking is allowed outdoors only!! The cottage itself has two bedrooms (a queen and the other with twins) and two hotel quality moveable beds. There is a comfortable living room with a monitor/VCR with tapes, and a phone to make reservations wherever you might want to go. We have a fully equipped kitchen (including pots, pans, dishes, blender and coffee maker), and a full bathroom with tub and shower. Ceiling fans cool the bedrooms and there is a heating system for chilly nights. Quilts, linens and towels and provided. Discover the magic of the Western Catskills in historic central NY known as the Central Leatherstocking District. This region of New York State was home to several large Native American Tribes and is the site of many historical events of the Revolutionary War.
Area Attractions:

Antique your way through our villages and along our country back roads where treasures can always be found for dealers and collectors alike. A spectacular antique fair of 1000 dealers occurs in near-by Madison County which rivals Brimfield's Antique Show.
Centrally located, it is an easy 45 minute drive to Cooperstown's Otsego Lake, Baseball Hall of Fame, Glimmerglass Opera, and Its well known museums. Oneonta (20 minutes) offers its National Soccer Hall of Fame, Minor League Baseball at Nehawa Park and its many choices of shops and eateries.
Many art and music events are held at The West Kortright Centre and the Orpheus Theater.
During the months of July and August experience our old fashioned county fairs and the New York State Fair in Syracuse (1.5 hours away)
