Pyon House Cottage Annexe is attached to the rear of Pyon House. It is a self contained cottage with its own separate entrance looking over a delightful courtyard kitchen garden.

The cottage consists of a modern kitchen with electric hob and oven, a microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. On arrival you will find home made bread and jams and a few other locally produced ingredients, such as apple juice, our own eggs and local bacon- just to get you started. The sitting/dining room has a wood burning stove, sofa and armchairs, TV and video, (plus some children's videos), dining table and 4 chairs. We also have a high chair for small children.

There are 2 upstairs bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other with a king sized bed, which can be changed into 2 singles on request. We also have a cot if you need it. All bed linen with duvets and towels are supplied. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower, washbasin and WC. A hair dryer is available too. The cottage has full central heating throughout with continuous hot water . All weekly rates include free use of central heating as required and there is a supply of wood for the wood burning stove in winter.

The garden of 2½ acres is there for your use. There are plenty of places to sit and relax and a table under the open barn for alfresco dinning. There is also a croquet lawn and all weather tennis court and racquets available. If you are enthusiastic we also have table tennis, a trampoline and an assortment of children's bikes and scooters.

Local Area Information

Close by in the village of Canon Pyon we have a very good village shop where you will find everything you could need including many local products. If you don't want to cook, the pub at Bush Bank, just a 10 minute walk away, has good home cooked food. There are many other pubs serving good food - the Wellington in that village and The Bell at Tillington to name but a few. If you want to go somewhere special we have two excellent gastro pubs – the Three Crowns at Ullingswick and the Stagg at Titley. Ludlow, which has the best restaurants anywhere in the country outside London, is only 40 minutes drive north.

We are about halfway between Hereford and Leominster and well suited for visiting the three counties – Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. For walkers there is plenty to do. The famous Offa's Dyke is just north from here, the Wye Valley Walk following the path of the river and the Hereford Trail linking market towns. There is mountain boarding , kayaking, several golf courses plus bowling in Hereford.

The county has many gardens open to the public, from the newly restored Hampton Court Gardens to plant lovers' gardens such as Abbey Dore Court Garden, the national clematis collection at Burford House and Water Gardens at Westonbury Mill. And if you don't mind travelling further you can visit the renowned gardens at Hidcote and Kiftsgate.

Hereford with its Cathedral and Mappa Mundi exhibition is definitely worth a visit. You can stroll along the banks of the River Wye, have lunch or coffee at many of the local cafes and restaurants. Try the renowned vegetarian café at All Saints Church, or sit out on the balcony at the Left Bank and enjoy a meal or drink beside the passing river. There is plenty of shopping, including the delightful Church Street, off Cathedral Close. We have a covered market with a top class fish monger and good fruit and veg. Farmers' markets, in High Town twice a month, and a weekly WI market at St Peters Church Hall sell top class local produce
