About HistoryMontcaret was founded by the Romans and there is a small museum in the village displaying the mosaic found in the local churchyard. We even have our own roman stone bench! The area is surrounded by hill top bastide towns where the Hundred Years War was fought with the English. The last battle is re-enacted every summer at the nearby town of Castillon.
